Brackley School today is under the care of the senior teacher, Mrs. Rita MacDonald and the junior teacher, Mrs. Lucy Cudmore, who teaches grades one to six. The school is very old and has a long history. It has produced hundreds of scholars and served its purpose as a school house

well.

In June 1972, another change occurred. Brackley school was included in school unit no. 3. This meant that the senior students as of 1972 were to be transported to Charlottetown Rural High School. Students that are in Grade 7 go to Stone Park Junior High School.

There are a few interesting dates to note in Brackley school’s recent history since 1953:

May 1953 Music Festival - A chorus of Grades one to five placed first in a tie with

another chorus. The Rhythm Band, Grades one to five tiedfor second place. December 1953

The school was closed due to the illness of the teacher for a whole month.

March 17. 1959 Edward and Maude Sellick presented a large framed picture of Queen

Elizabeth II and Prince Phillip.

June 1962 Guy and Bertha Pierce presented a second picture of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Phillip when the new addition of school was completed.
