/ More often than not, the husbands become actively involved in the various projects their wives, as Institute members, have organized. When the women painted the Brackley School, the men painted also. Any minor repairs that needed to be done to the school, the men did them. Throughout the winter months, when the regular meetings of the In¬ stitute were scheduled, the men accompanied their wives to whose ever home the meeting was to be held at, and played cards for the evening. Everyone enjoyed a lovely lunch when the business of the Institute had been dealt with. The following is a picture taken of the husbands of the members of the Brackley Women's Institute in 1957.
