Cardigan train station.
The Cardigan Station was built in sections, expanding as traffic and customs increased in the area. The station contained a waiting room, office, and baggage rooms as well as freight sheds.
After the station was closed in 1972, the building was purchased by John Doucette. The freight sheds were torn off the building. In 1975 the building was sold to the Cardigan Craft Guild and moved to the field adjoining the station house. The Craft Guild added a kitchen and bathrooms to the struc- ture in 1976. The craft centre has been operating since 1976. Extensive repairs were done to the building in 1980. The old station continues to serve a useful purpose in the community.
