Revell and Mrs. George Phair . A restaurant, the Til-Mar, was started in Cardigan around 1955 by Tilly Maclntyre and Marjorie Shepherd . They operated the restaurant for only a year, then Tilly and Bridget Maclntyre ran it for the next two summers. The restaurant, located directly across from Wim's store, was moved across the road and converted into a store because it was said to be blocking the view of traffic crossing the bridge. This restaurant had been a meeting place for the younger people in Cardigan . In 1914 the Cardigan was an active business run by a Char- lottetown businessperson. A home in the village was used as a depot for the eggs and once a week, the dealer would collect them. The following week money was paid for the eggs collected the previous week. 31
