the district. In the years 1892 to 1895 Maria McIntyre taught
school. The subjects taught in 1895 included reading, writing,

spel ing and composition. In 1896 Alex A. MacDonald taught school. -In 1897 John N. MacDonald was the schoolmaster. In 1898 the duties of school teachers were split between May Mac tyre and John N. MacDonald. In 1899 the duties were split between John F. Mooney and Mary J. MacIntyre. In the years of 1900, 1901, 1902 and 1905 Daniel (Dan) C. MacDonald was school—A master. J. W. McPhee taught school in 1904. 1905 and 1906 brought D.C. MacDonald back to teach. Archibald J. McPhee was teacher in 1907 and 1908. In 1909 no teacher could be found. In 1910 Mamie Beaton taught school. Harvey Christopher taught school between 1912 and 1914. In his final year , he split the duties with Edna MacDonald. She taught in 1915 and the first semester in 1916. Ruth Paquet then taught for a term. Mary MacCarthy taught the next term. Marjorie Campbell taught in the l917~l918 term. Mary MacPhee taught in 1918-»1919. In June of 1919 the school was closed for lack of a teacher. This situation also occurred at St. Columba and Elmira. The supplement was raised to 375.00 and again to $125.00 from $25.00 to attract a teacher. Helen Stewart taught in 1920 with an enrollment of eleven students. She was succeeded by Miss Cecilia MacDonald175 (presently a Mrs. Daley living in Southern Kings)174 who taught
for a few years. A new school, which is still standing, was erect~
ed around 1920.175
