In 1914 a newspaper reported that tenders were called for the building of a fence around the East Point School. The Mutual Improvement ‘ociety (which was an organization of young people in the district) had called the tender. The group was praised by the newspaper for being a good example for other young people in the communities to follow. The group raised money by sponsoring

Although the names of the local churches are East Point Baptist Church and St. Columba Church, East Point. Neither are located in East Point The Baptist Church is in Kingsboro and the Roman Catholic Church is in Fairfield. Nevertheless both churches play an integral role in East Points' history.

Most of the early settlers were Scottish. Many of the Scottish Roman Catholics fled their homeland because of religious persecution. They were very religious. In 1806 they constructed a log church on Eroh's field. From his arrival to 1835 they were dependent on the visits of Bishop MacEachern which may not have been very often. From 1855 to 1880 St. Columba was a dependency of St. Margarets Parish.177 {The road Bishop MacEachern(who had relatives in the area)178 created because of his trips to East Point was known as "BishOp MacEachern's Road.” (This road fell into disuse in the 1880's.)179 The log structure was replaced by a larger church in 1825. It had beautiful furnishings. In 1846,
