The oldest house in East Point is probably the Percy Beaton house. It was occupied until 1975. The main part of the house was built about 170 years ago by 527

Donald Beaton. Later, additions were made to the house.

The past sixty years brought many changes to East Point. The number of farmers and fishermen has dropped considerably. There are probably fewer people living at East Point now than in 1881. The school was closed in 1974. Rural electrification came to the area. In the early 1970's the area residents fought off an attempt to put in place a National hark at East Point. All in all to use some borrowed words "Changes great have come of late"528 to the

community of East Point.
