The oldest house in East Point is probably the Percy Beaton house. It was occupied until 1973. The main part of the house was built about 170 years ago by 327 Donald Beaton . Later, additions were made to the house. The past sixty years brought many changes to East Point . The number of farmers and fishermen has dropped considerably. There are probably fewer people living at East Point now than in 1881. The school was closed in 1974-. Rural electrification came to the area. In the early 1970's the area residents fought off an attempt •p , to put in place a National FgrrK at East Point . All in all to use 328 some borrowed words "Changes great have come of late" to the community of East Point .
