ROBERT CLOW Robert Clow was another son of George and Rachel ( Crouch ) Clow. It is believed that he was b. at Suffolk , Lot34ca. 1837. Hem . Mary Whear of , according to a marriage bond dated 10 Mar. 1864. Robert was a resident of , Lot 31 at the time. They moved to Freetown prior to the birth of their seventh child in Dec. 1875. It is believed that Robert purchased a plot of land in South Freetown (code 70a). The 1881 census states that Robert Clow was a laborer residing in Lot 26 with his wife, nine children and Isabella Alexander , age 68, a native of Scotland . Further details on this family are not available. WILLIAM J. CLOW Information on William J. Clow reveals that he was a farm laborer, and lived in Freetown . He was affiliated with the Methodist Church. The 1881 census records that he was 23 years of age at that time and that he was m. to Cecilia Gertrude Hickey who was 24 years of age. They had at least two children: James Ernest b. in Freetown 15 Apr. 1877, Mary M. b. 1879. JOHN MOORE COLES George and Anne (Wright) Crosby sold 50 acres on the Main (code 72) to John M. Coles on the 22 Dec. 1870 for 300 pounds. On 13Nov. 1872 JohnM. Coles sold this parcelof land to Samuel Clow for $1005.00. John Moore Coles and his wife Elizabeth lived on this farm, n.f.r. JOHNSTON COLLICUTT Johnston Collicutt and family from the O'Leary area moved to Freetown in the mid 1960's. Mr. Collicutt was employed by Edwin Lewis on the Road (code 68). The family remained at Freetown for about ten years before they moved to Reserve road. Their children were: 2a Charles b. 13 Jan. 1947. 2b Percy b. 12 July 1949. 2c Norma. 2d Glen m. and living in the Victoria area. DAVID COOK David Cook leased 100 ac. of land on the , (code 113) from the Thomson Bros , in Aug. 1860. This lease was taken over by Richard Toombs in May 1875. David sold a parcel of land to Humphrey Brown who was believed to have worked in Wall's Mill. In the 1861 census David and his wife Sarah recorded four children. The only name we found in a newspaper clipping states that Amelia a 2 yr old dau. d. in Summerside after an illness of nine weeks on 17 Oct. 1872. Indications are that they moved to Summerside . 247
