4a 3i2h Robert Edward b. 8 Nov. 1927 at Stanley, N.B. Bob m. in Aug. 1956, Genevieve Freeman, daughter of Correl and Ruth (Anderson) Freeman. Robert was employed with the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce and served as manager and bank inspector. Genevieve is a nurse and raised four children, Susan, James, Andrew and Janet. They currently reside at Oakville, Ont.
4b 3i2h David Ratchford b. 10 Feb. 1930 at Star City, Sask. He m. 24 Nov. 1955, Lucie Barbara Sims, daughter of Hartle E. and Margaret (Sutherland) Sims of Charlottetown. David worked and managed J ardine Adjusting Agency, Charlottetown, A. Kennedy & Co., and currently is an auctioneer and antique dealer in Charlottetown. David and Lucie have four children: Barbara, Rebecca, Diane and
Douglas.
4c 3i2h Philip Bent b. 9 Apr. 1931 at Summerside, Philip m. 2 July 1955, Laura Mae Higginbotham, dau. of Harry John and Annie Edith (Richards) Higginbotham of Montague. Philip graduated from the Medical School of Dalhousie University, Halifax, NS. in 1956. He first practised at Sheet Harbour, N.S. then moved to Musquodoboit Harbour, N.S., where he currently practises. Laura is a nurse and also a mother to three children: Robert, Elizabeth and Donald.
4d 3i2h Margaret Caroline b. 14 Mar. 1938 at Summerside; n.m. She currently resides at London, Ont. where she is a physiotherapist at Thames Valley Children’s Center.
2j Jane (Jardine) Taylor Jane was born between April and Dec. 1833 at the Head of Hillsborough. She moved with her parents
in 1849 to live on their farm on the North Freetown Road. Jane m. on 20 Mar. 1856 to John Taylor (ca 1827-1860), son of John and Bridget Taylor of Freetown. They farmed at Lower Freetown owning 180 acres of land in two parcels shown as code 12 and 47.
John Taylor died in Dec. 1861 prior to the birth of his third daughter, Johnetta, who was named in his memory. Jane continued to live and work the 180 acre farm until her death on 12 Sept. 1909 at Lower Freetown.
They had three children all born at Lower Freetown, surname Taylor. +3a 2j Angelina b. ca 1856. +3b 21' Margaret Jane b. ca 1859. +30 2j Johnetta b. Sept. 1861.
+3a2j Angelina Taylor
Angelina was b. to John and Jane (J ardine) Taylor at Lower Freetown in 1856 or 1857., Angelina attended the local school and in Dec. 1882 m. Hamilton R. Douglas from the Head of Hillsborough. They migrated to the United States, where she d. at New London, Conn. about 1936. They had two sons: Taylor and Lewis.
+3ij Margaret Jane Taylor Margaret Jane was b. about 1859 at Lower Freetown. She helped her mother on the family farm at Lower
Freetown (code 47) then after her mother d. in 1909, moved to Mt. Stewart, where she d. 12 July 1943.
+3c2j Johnetta Taylor Johnetta was b. in Sept. 1861, after her father had died. She In. W. Cameron MacLauchlan of the Head
of Hillsborough. They farmed at the Head of Hillsborough where they raised six children: Frank, John, Tina, Etta, Amy and Arthur. Jonetta died at Mt. Stewart in Sept. of 1948. Her husband d. in Oct. 1950.
2k Mary Jardine
Mary was b. at the Head of Hillsborough ca. 1835. She moved to Freetown with her parents and according to family tradition suffered a severe scalding when she was quite young. Another tradition suggests she was attacked and crippled by a bear. The 1881 census records a Mary J ardine residing in the household of Thomas Glover on Lot 25. Mary d. in 1906 probably in the Freetown area.
21 Margaret Jardine Margaret was b. in 1837 at the Head of Hillsborough. She moved to Freetown in 1849 and prior to 1883
moved to the Boston area. She was a seamstress and lived for a time with her nephew, William Falconer Jardine, at North Cambridge, Mass. She d. in North Cambridge in 1913.
