There are thirty—five separate surnames in the three censuses;
fourteen appear in all three censuses, (see Table 15, below);
and another ten appear in at least two of the censuses; thus,
twenty-four surnames appear in two of the three censuses.
While precise genealogical relationships cannot be determined, CcT\SIS+e~x+
the evidence suggests Gunfirnuaus occupation of this settle-
ment by approximately twenty families.

Reference was made in the previous chapter to the sport of horse racing at Somerset. It appears that this sport goes back to about 1851, as the following advertisement from a newspaper of September, 1851 suggests.
