While the Patriot seemed to carry more news of economic failures, the Examiner, March 6, 882 carries the notice of the mortgage sale in Somerset, the failure of the Bank of P.E.I. on March 30, 1882, and references to increased migration to the United States from all of Canada, on March 31, 1882. Increased migration from P.E.I. to Manitoba and westward increased after the appearance of several ads. in the Examiner in May, 1882 for sale of land in the west at low prices.
