One of the type of caskets constructed by William Dingwell was of wood covered in broadcloth (usually black). The handles would be attached when the casket was sold (usually retailing for approximately sixty dollars). Many of the country stores would purchase several to hold in storage for use in their own communities. The Dingwell Funeral Home discontinued manufacturing caskets in 1980.
