In this way he gathered much valuable information, most of which has already been microfilmed by the Public Archives of P.E.I. In an interview September 17, 1942, Edward Villard said that the family consisted of seven girls and two boys. (Fidele and Suplian Paquet) Suplian is also spelled Cyprien in some old docu- ments. Both said they remembered the Peter Cheverie home. (Donald McEachern and Archibald McEachern) Interviews: Peter (Archie) MacPhee, December 28, 1940 said that James Dunphy remembered a dyke along the McLauchlan farm, Main Street, from what is now Church Avenue to Prince Avenue. Frank Grady said that Jack McQuaid remembered the stone dyke in the same location, as did also James MacEachern in an interview on July 28, 194]. Pat St. John on January 17, 1945, said he remembered a dyke from Church Avenue along the Main Street to the pres- ent St. Mary’s Parish Hall.

(Edmund Keays) Leard Papers Reel 5 and Reel 13 Keays. Interview with Donald Keays, July 29, 1941: “My grandfather, Edward, was the first Keays in Souris". (Edmund on the map, would be a mistake). He was known as Eddie Keays. He was born on the North Side not far from Campbell's Cove.
