The Purpose of the U.C.W . is "To unite all women of the Con?? gregation for the total mission of the church and to provide a medium through which they may express their loyalty and devotion to Jesus Christ in Christian Witness , Study, Fellowship and Service." Meetings are held every month at members' homes, and consist of a program, Bible study, Worship, roll call, business meeting and social time. Lauchlan, Cassie Marshall , Edith Marshall , Marion Marshall , Margaret Power , Anne Ross , Noreen Shaw and Evelyn Simpson . Besides visiting the sick and shut-ins, sending cards, flowers and memorials for the deceased, the Stanhope U.C.W . record services at the Stanhope United Church on tape, and play the tapes for those unable to attend church. For the past several years, a Thanksgiving dinner, consisting of a cold plate and dessert, has been prepared and delivered by the members to over-80-year-old residents and shut-ins in the Stanhope area, together with baskets of homemade jams, preserves and relishes. U.C.W . members also serve lunch for Men's Club meetings and supply food for the Men's Club annual roast beef dinner. A recent fund-raising project has been the sale of church plates. United Church A.O.T.S. Men 's Club The initials stand for "As One That Serves". The Men's Club was organised in the fall of 1965 with the help of Mr. Jack MacNair of Trinity United Church in Charlottetown . The first President was Mr. Wylie Gibson , and the Club started with members from Central, York and Brackley ; the latter community later joined with Winsloe, and Stanhope and West Covehead joined York and Central in 1968.
