until 1930. Mr. Bernard, now living in Pierrefonds, Quebec has kindly written an account of his teaching experiences in Wilmot Valley for this community history. Evelyn Mayne taught the 1930-31 term and for the next two years the teacher was Austin Kennedy. Gwendolyn MacLean with an enrolment of only 13 pupils had an easier year but from 1934 to 1936 the number of students increased to 19 under the care of Marion Frizzell. The years 1936 to 1937 saw Olive Stavert as teacher and in 1938 Grace Deacon was in charge.

In 1939 Annie Dyment came for a two year period. In 1941 there were 21 pupils all under the watchful eye of Jean Boswell and they were supervis- ed by Alice Clements the following year. Mary Gamble came in 1943 and the teacher in 1944 was Olga Simpson. In 1945 Mrs. Arthur Burgess turned her charge over to Reta Frizzell before the year was over and in 1946 Eleanor Ctucliffe was in control. In 1947 Dorothy Linkletter was hired and her contract was renewed for the two following years.
