Meanwhile the teachers continued to come and go. In 1950 Ruby MacLean was in charge and the following year brought a return visit from Dorothy Linkletter. Keir Adams taught in 1952 and in 1953 Christine Proud came for a two year period. Joyce Easter spent the year 1955 in this school and in 1956 Mrs. Marion Millar came for what proved to be the longest stay in the history of the school.
The next three years saw three teachers each serving one year terms. They were Heath Costain, Maude Kells and Mrs. Myrtle Ellis Millar. In 1964 Mrs. Edith M. Huestis held the position for two years and in 1966 Mrs. Edna MacNeill was in charge and she stayed for a second year. In 1968 the teacher, Mrs. Helen Millar from nearby Kelvin Grove signed a contract that was renewed until 1972. Mrs. Wanda Noonan was hired for the next two years and for what proved to be the final teaching session in Wilmot Valley School.
The school closed in 1974, after much controversy among the residents of Wilmot Valley. The pupils were taken by bus to Athena Regional school and with school amalgamation coming into force they became a part of School Unit 2.
