ALLIED YOUTH In 1977 two Allied Youth groups were formed in Wilmot Valley. A junior post with Bonnie Caseley and Garth Huestis as leaders, and a senior post with Nancy Waugh as leader. Their meetings are held in the homes of the members and the Wilmot Valley School is available for their special events. One well planned party in the school won for them the “Dare to be Different Award” when they arranged a Hallowe’en party for the local children and closed the community to “Trick or Treating” on that night. This International organization has a six point program which is followed and this program helps to develop leadership skills and an awareness of the effects of alcohol and other drugs. It also allows members to improve themselves as people through service to others in the community and helps in decision making when facing social questions.
