Barry Mills, a son-in-law of Horace, lives in a mobile home on the opposite side of the driveway from Horace’s house. The Huestis home, nestled in its thick grove of trees, strikes the passerby as one of the coziest places in the community. The farm, which is now owned by Kenneth Huestis, belonged originally to William Schurman. The Lefur- geys were the first settlers on this land. “William Schurman, Loyalist,” by Graves, was extremely valuable once again, in tracing the history of this property. LEFURGEY When John Lefurgey, the Loyalist, bought the present-day George Hogg farm from William Schurman in 1811, he also bought the Kenneth Huestis farm (1979). John's son, George (ca. l807—Oct. 6, 1864) lived on this farm, in a house which was slightly northeast of Horace Huestis’s house. George married Hannah Baker (Sept. 3, 1812-1899) on Dec. 23, 1830, in St. Eleanor‘s. George and Hannah farmed and raised a family of fifteen children:
