176 A Bridge To The Past
As we return to the junction of the Blueshank and the Wilmot Grove or MacMurdo Road, we find on the north side of the Blueshank the home of John Mark and Sandra Arsenault. This home belonged originally to Jack Folland, and is just east of Austin Johnston’s home.
FOLLAND
John Earland Folland (Aug. 18, 1943), son of Ira and Iris (Oatway) Folland, married Gale Marchbank, (Nov. 5, 1946), daughter of Keir and Lillian (Beaton) Marchbank, in 1963. Both the Marchbanks and the Follands are from Wilmot Valley. Jack and Gale bought land from the Sobeys and built a new home in 1972. Jack was a truck-driver while in Wilmot Valley. Gale is head of the Housekeeping Department at Prince County Hospital. After Jack and Gale moved from the community the house was purchased by John Mark Arsenault. Jack and Gale have two sons, Darcy Dale (April 3, 1964) and Stacey John (Jan. 2, 1969).
ARSENAULT
John Mark Arsenault (June 26, 1955) is the son of Melvin and Lor- raine Arsenault of Borden, P.E.1. John Mark works for C.N. Marine in Borden, and moved to Wilmot Valley in February, 1979, after purchasing the John Folland home. John Mark married Sandra McCourt (Sept. 2, 1953), daughter of Mrs. Kay McCourt of Wilmot, in 1979. Sandra works at the Medical Records Department of Prince County Hospital.
MARCHBANK
The split-level house to the east of the Arsenaults is the home 01‘ Wayne and Nancy Marchbank. Wayne Seymour Marchbank (July 29, 1940) is the son of Keir and Lillian (Beaton) Marchbank of Wilmot Valley, and a brother of Gale Folland, who lived formerly on the adjoining lot on the west side of the Marchbank property. Wayne married Nancy Ann Maclnni\ (Jan. 12, 1944) in 1961. Nancy is the daughter of Walter and Helen (Gunn~ ing) Maclnnis of Summerside. Wayne and Nancy purchased land from Edgar Sobey in 1966. Wayne is self—employed. He is a carpenter and an oyster-fisherman. Nancy works at Gaudet's Save—Easy in the Summerside Mall. Wayne seems to share the interest his parents have in gardening, as he has set out many trees and shrubs on his property, as well as growing a large garden. Wayne and Nancy have four children:
Cindy Lou (Jan., 1962) works at Gaudet’s Save-Easy.
Stephen Wayne (March 31, 1964) attends Three Oaks Senior High School. Mary Patricia (Aug. 31, 1965) attends Three Oaks Senior High School. Katheryn Grace (Aug. 29, 1967) attends Parkside School.
