CONNELL
James Connell (O’Connell) was born in 1800, and emigrated from Ireland to P.E.I. He settled in Wilmot Valley, buying part of the Waugh property. His house was on the north side of the brook. James married Sarah Lefurgey (1801-1880) and they cleared this land. Baptismal records and maps indicate that the Connells lived here during the 1840’s and moved prior to 1880. James died in 1884 and he and Sarah are buried in the United Baptist Church Cemetery in Central Bedeque. They had several children:
Jane (ca. 1823) Elizabeth (ca. 1830) Mary (ca. 1842) Sarah (ca. 1844)
James - married and farming in Wilmot Valley in 1861.
