Footsteps Across The Bridge 213 “Rolling Bank Cottage”, but/I ca. 1850, by George Doull, with Katherine Clark on the left, Hazel Harding (centre) and Scott Clark. This house is the home of Kenneth and Pearl Clarke. In 1928, property was bought in Cape Traverse, P.E.l. and Miss Doull returned to establish a home, spending only summer months in the beginn- ing. Later it became her permanent residence until her death in 1953. In her lsland studio, which had once been a Methodist Church, she laboured with creations on canvas and in pottery. She did not use moulds and most of her pottery was made with lsland clay, not always using a glaze. Some of her miniature paintings have been on display at Con- federation Centre Art Gallery in Charlottetown, P.E.1. and some of her work is on display at the P.E.I. Heritage Foundation, Beaconsfield. CLARK William Charles Clark (l843-Nov. 9, 1903) bought the Rolling Bank Cottage when the Doulls moved to Summerside. The son of Charles and Louisa Clark, he married Margaret Ann Lefurgey (April 2, 1847-March 8, 1899 or 1900), daughter of Hannah and George Lefurgey, in March, 1869. Charles and Margaret Ann had eleven Children: Richard A. (May 22, 1869) married Esther Hogg and lived, until 1907, on the Blueshank Road where Cyril Reynolds lives (1979).
