HUMPHREY

Thomas Humphrey (1855—1930) married Jane Stavert (1860-1937) in 1880. At first they lived in Kelvin Grove but moved to Wilmot Valley when they purchased the farm of John M. Clark. They built a new house in 1902 on the east side of the road. This is the home that Arnold Waugh lives in today. Thomas and Jane had four children:

Jessie Isabel (July 10, 188l-Oct. 12, 1948) married Frank Curtis. Etta May (Aug. 25, 1882-1966) married Harry Simmons.

Lois Hope died as a young girl at nineteen years of age as a result of burns.

Ida Catherine died as a young girl.

DESROCHES

Orel DesRoches worked with Thomas Humphrey for about 25 years. He never married and lived with the Humphreys all of this time. He had a Model T Roadster and was an excellent skater. It is told that Orel could skate faster going backwards than most people could skate going forward. Following Mr. Humphrey’s death in 1930, Orel went to Summerside and worked with Sinclair and Stewart, later known as Smallman’s Limited. Following retirement Orel lived in Miscouche.

WAUGH

Following the death of Thomas Humphrey in 1930 the farm was pur- chased by Lloyd Waugh (April 17, 1907—Oct. 27, 1976). Lloyd was the son of Thomas and Jerusha (Hogg) Waugh and he married Dorothy Muttart,
