236 A Bridge To The Past After the Clark family moved to Summerside, the James Beaton family lived in the Clark house for a brief period of time. The next family to live here was the family of William Farris. FARRIS William Farris (June 16, 1921) is the son of James and Dorothy Farris of Kentville, N.S. William married Evelyn Jean MacDonald, (July 24, 1925- Aug. 24, 1964), daughter of Peter and Jessica (Rix) MacDonald of Tyne Valley. They moved to Wilmot Valley about 1955. Bill was employed with Elmer Waugh. Bill and Jean had a large family: Mary Kathleen (Feb. 1, 1946) married Urban Gallant. They live in North Bedeque, on the Taylor Road, and have three daughters: Susan, Crystal and Heather. William Peter (Dec. 29, 1947) married Mary Gillis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Camillus Gillis of Traveller‘s Rest. They live in North Bedeque. Linda Gail (Aug. 20, 1949) is a bookkeeper and is employed with Shopper’s Drug Mart. Linda lives at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Farris. John Austin (Oct. 17, 1950) married Lynn Pidgeon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ira Pidgeon of Kensington. They live in Wilmot Valley with their two children, Sherry Lynn and Edward Kenneth. Jack is employed with MacQuarrie Transfer of Wilmot. Sandra Lee (Feb. 9, 1954) married Marvin Stavert. They live in Freetown and have one son, Marvin. Ronald Edward (March 22, 1956) married Donna Fyfe. He is presently employed by William Cousins. Elmer Robert (Aug. 2, 1957) is employed with Solen Corporation in Wilmot Valley. Karen Heather (March 31, 1959) married Andrew Coolen, formerly of Wilmot Valley. Their children are Rachel and Daniel. Andrew is with the CAF and is presently stationed in Germany. (See Coolen). Steven Paul (Nov. 13, 1963) attends school. Bill and Jean lived here for about nine years and then left the com- munity. The Farris family lived in Freetown and on the Taylor Road, in the former Jardine house, before returning to this road. Bill, Ronnie, Elmer and Paul now live in a home east of their former home. (See Veterans). Jack, Lynn and their children live in a home which is on the lot where the Clark house stood before it was destroyed by fire.
