FOLLAND
The Follands came to Wilmot Valley shortly after the Beatons left, and moved into the Clark house. James Ira Folland (March 29, 1902-March 19, 1979) was the son of John Wesley and Lydia Margaret (Somers) Fol- land. Ira married Iris May Oatway (May 24, 1912), daughter of John Alfred and Katherine “Kathleen” (DesRoches) Oatway. They came here from Darnley in July, 1954 and lived in the Al Clark place, then owned by Elmer Waugh. In 1955 they moved to the Floyd Caseley property, living in the for- mer Agnew house for a brief period. From there they returned to another house on Elmer Waugh’s property which they now live in, and Ira was em- ployed by Elmer Waugh. lra also worked on other farms in the area. lris worked in the Maintenance Department of Prince County Hospital and re- tired in November, 1975. lra and Iris had a family of six children:
John Earland (Aug. 18, 1943), married Gale Marchbank and lived on the Blueshank Road. (See Folland).
