248 A Bridge To The Past CLARK William Charles Clark, known as “Wild Red Bill” (June 14, 1879- Dec. 25. 1958) was the son of Charles and Margaret Ann (Lefurgey) Clark. He married Mabel Lefurgey (Feb. 14, 1877-March, 1931), daughter of Alex- ander and Mabel (Murphy) Lefurgey of North Bedeque. They lived in Wilmot Valley, where Alder Large now lives, until about 1912 when they moved to a farm west of Summerside. They had a family of five children: Margaret Kathleen (March 17, 1907— ) was born in Wilmot Valley. She married Emmett Conlon (Oct. 5, 1917— ). He was born in New York. They had two children. Lucy Alexandra (Oct. 26, 1908- ) was born in Wilmot Valley and married Sinclair MacKay (Aug. 3, 1905-1978). They lived in Charlot- tetown and had one daughter, Jill. John Lawson (Feb. 16, 1910- ) was born in Wilmot Valley. He was called Jack. He married Dorothy Monkley (March 6, 1911— ). Of three children only one is living. William David (Nov. 11, 1911 - 1948) was born in Wilmot Valley. He married Olive Tate and they had one son, David. William died in England. Mary Catherine (June 13, 1913- ) in Summerside, married Gannon. They live in Lynn, Massachusetts, USA. LARGE Reuben Robblee Large (Aug. 19, 1899-Dec. 22, 1970) son of Richard and Eliza (Crossman) Large of Albany, married on Feb. 11, 1919, Ada Isabel (l894-Sept. 15, 1959) daughter of Robert T. Moase and Lucy (Burrows) Moase of Kensington. Mr. Large purchased this farm from William Clark in April of 1914. He farmed all of his life and had quite a large fox-ranch. They had one son, Alder Eric (July 1, 1917). When Alder was ready to come into this world, horses and cars both were being used for transportation. To keep peace on the highways, and for the safety of all, there were certain days each week when only cars were allowed on the roads and other days when only horses could be driven. As it happened, Alder ar- rived on one of the days when horses were to be driven on the roads. But Mrs. Large had not much time to spare, so the doctor committed a civic offense, and drove his car to the Large residence, arriving in time to assist in the delivery. Alder Eric Large married Janet Belle Sinclair on November 15, 1939, daughter of James Norris and Minnie Jane (MacKenzie) Sinclair of Spr— ingfield. Alder and Janet lived in Moncton, NB. where Alder worked for
