BAKER
Robert Baker (1880-1961) was the son of John and Mary (Carruthers) Baker. He married Dora Clark, daughter of Ewen Clark of Wilmot Valley. They farmed for a short time on the Taylor Road before moving to North Bedeque. Mr. Baker planted the orchard which still stands on the Coolen property. They had the following family:
Erma lives in North Bedeque. John or “Jack” lives in North Bedeque.
Clark (1912-Nov. 4, 1978) married Ora Helen Sudsbury in 1942 and had a family of three. They farmed in North Bedeque, where Helen now lives.
JARDINE
Benjamin Jardine (1874), the son of David and Adelaide (Campbell) Jardine, married Jessie Cairns, daughter of John and Myra (Crawford) Cairns, in November, 1902. They moved to Wilmot Valley and purchased the farm from the Bakers. They farmed and had the following family:
Oren (Nov. 1903) married Helga Thompson and farmed in Bickleigh,
Saskatchewan. Their children are David, Alan, Keith, Cecil and Emery.
Albert (1904) died at three months of age. Frank (Nov. 18, 1905) married Jennie Muttart. (See Frank Jardine).
Austin (Nov. 30, 1906) married Kathleen Harriott and is a United Church minister. He received his BA. from Mount Allison University, and then studied at Pine Hill Divinity Hall. He was ordained in 1937, and received his Master of Divinity degree from Union Theological Seminary, in New York, in 1938. He has served in the Maritimes from 1939 to 1973. Austin is retired and he and Kathleen live in St. Stephen, N.B. Their children are Patricia and David.
Olive (May 30, 1912--Dec. 11, 1961) married Basil Haslarn and they lived in Springfield. Their children were John and Frank.
Annie (July 1, 1914- ) married Helge Peterson. They farm and live in Chelton, P.E.1. Their children are Lloyd and Louise.
Eunice (Sept. 22, 1916-Sept. 29, 1978) worked as a nurse in a Toronto hospital. She is buried in North Bedeque.
Frank married Jennie Muttart in 1932, daughter of Hedley and Mildred (Ferguson) Muttart of Carleton. The farm had been transferred to Frank from his father in 1931. Frank and Jennie carried on a mixed farming
