CROZIER

Henry Crozier (Nov. 23, 1870-1953) was the son of Robert and Mary Anne (Henry) Crozier of Hamilton. Henry married Mary Jane Simpson (1882—1970), daughter of William and Elizabeth Ann (Leard) Simpson of Cavendish. They moved to U.S.A., returning to P.E.I. in 1906. Henry bought the farm previously owned by the Hoggs. At that time the farm was included in the North Bedeque School District. Henry lived there until 1918 when he moved to Read's Corner, although he still retained this property. Eventually, two of his sons, Bernett and Ira, operated this farm. Henry and Mary Jane had twelve children:

After lra‘s marriage he moved to his childhood home, building a house which was completed in 1938. The land was transferred to the Wilmot Valley School District in 1946. Ira farmed until 1974, when he sold his share of the farm, (sixty~seven acres), to Anthony Keefe and his house to Morris Johnson, and moved to Wilmot where he and his wife, Helen, now live. Bernett retained his share of the farm.

The residents of Wilmot Valley remember the Crozier family as being very athletic with a keen enthusiasm for sports. Ira and his brothers loved hockey and participated on teams, as well as enjoying it as spectators to the present day. Ira and Helen had a family of three sons:

Richard Lorne B.A., B.Ed., M.A. (Jan. 22, 1940) married Marilyn Wortley, Ph.D. They live and teach in Edmonton, Alberta.
