April. 1900 Sat. 7 Worst storm of the season. Sun. 8 Stanley came into S’side. Mon. 9 - Breaking roads most all day. Wed. 11 - Northumberlands first trip.

Thu. 12 - Springlike weather, fine and clear, snow rapidly disap- pearing, Charles hauling to and from the mill, churned the last churn- ing.

Mon. 16 - Beautiful day, washing and cleaning shanty.

Tues. 17 - Ironing, moving stoves in afternoon, Jessie was here. White cow had a calf at night.

Thu. 19 - Little calf died we got from Mr. Pridham.

Fri. 20 - Got three little pigs for 4.50.

Sat. 28 Fine and blowy, set first hen of season.

May, 1900 Tues. l - Set black hen. Sat. 5 - Fine but cloudy, Charles to Bruce Taylor’s for black oats.

Sat. 12 - Taking away banking, sowing wheat, down to Grandpa Stavert‘s for 1 bus. early potatoes.

Sun. 13 Cold and damp. l was down to meeting in afternoon. Mr. Hockin preached.

Fri. 18 - Sowed 19 bus. white oats in field next marsh, fine day. 11 chickens from lst hen set.

Thu. 24 - “Queen’s birthday," fine, sowed black oats and some white. Bought $1.25 worth of grass seed from R. Agnew, W. heifer had a calf.

June, 1900 Mon. 4 - Mr. Waite here shearing sheep. paid Mr. Waite 60 cts.

Tue. 12 Fine, sprayed gooseberry trees, had 21 chickens hatched. Charles traded “Jim" and $15.00 for binder.
