Fri. 15 - Fine, Charles sowed turnips in forenoon, borrowed 1/3 lb. seed from R. Agnew. David Schurman here after horse (Jim).
Mon. 25 - Rainy, intended road work today. Charles to blacksmith shop with two horses, got some cabbage plants and set out.
Sat. 30 - Mr. Waite to Summerside with our horse and buggy. Had 8 men carting clay to Bridge.
July 1900
Mon. 2 - Dominion Day celebration. Charles to S’side with Mr. and Mrs. Henry Waite.
Fri. 6 - Charles hoeing carrots, bought two mackerel 10 cts.
Mon. 9 — Charles away all forenoon looking for a [hired] man. To John Hogg’s in afternoon piling stumps.
Thu. 12 - Charles to Orange Tea at O’Leary.
Fri. 13- Charles working at carrots. Levi Sullivan took away 3 lambs $6.75 cts.
Sun. 15 - Charles and Rob to Cape Traverse to Sacrament Sunday.
Mon. 16 - Charles working at carrots, to Mr. John Waugh's in after- noon to barn raising.
Tue. 24 - cutting hay. Captain here in afternoon splicing rope.
Fri. 27 - Hoeing and opening coils, took in 2 loads.
August, 1900
Sat. 4 - To S’side, to Kensington picnic with Joe in afternoon, give Joe $1.00. [Joe is the new hired man].
Tue. 7 - Sprinkling potatoes for ourselves and Will Clark. Joe helping father in afternoon.
Tue. 14 - Joe hauling wood.
Sat. 18 - Fine and cool, Charles to S'side with Joe and Mike (gave Joe $5.00), bought two w. machines $7.50.
Sat. 25 - Hot and fine, Charles cut bearded wheat. Charles to S’side after tea. Terrible railway accident at blucshank.
Wed. 29 — Wet and sultry, Joe came back at noon but did not work, sold [5 quarts gooseberries, 14V: quarts currants for $2.23.
