Its prospectus declared that it was to be "devoted to people, places and things in Eastern P.E.I.," and that is the mandate which it has ful- filled. Kings County news predominates in the paper, with some ‘provincial news included. Sports, humour, photos and classi- fieds have all appeared from the paper's inception. Editorials in the Eastern Graphic are fOrceful and opinionated, promoting Kings County and attacking government at all levels, regardless of party politics. Television listings and columns began to play increasingly important roles in the paper during the 19708. Syndicated columns on a wide variety of topics were printed, while local columns commented on P.E.I. politics, recalled P.E.I. history, and dealt humorously With different aspects of life. During the 19803, the syndicated columns and the television listings disappeared from the Eastern Graphic, but a wide range of Island columnists were still featured. The Eastern Graphic is still being published today. HOLDINGS PAPEI masters Dec. 11, 1963 - Dec.l3,]989 (20 reels). PAPEI originals July 3, 1985 to date.
