The Weekly Advertiser and Colonial Times published inter-

national and local news, poetry, anecdotes, fiction and ad— vertisements. It had a Liberal bias, attacking the Con— servative Islander and opposing religious instruction in the schools. However, the overall tone of the newspaper was not political.
