§ 292. JEREMIAH HAZARD, 5 (Robert, 4; Robert, 3 ; Robert, 2; Thomas, I), was born July 25, 1736; he died in 1773. He married, November 6, I760, Phebe Tillinghast. In his will, written June 21, 1773, he gave to his son Jeffrey “all my lands lying in Exeter and in West Greenwich; to wife Phebe, all lands lying in Coventry (one hundred and fifteen acres);to daughter Abigail,” &c. The

will was admitted to Probate, December 14, I773.

593. ABIGAIL HAZARD. §3o8. JEREMIAH HAZARD, 5 (Robert, 4; Jeremiah, 3; Robert, 2;

Thomas, I), was born (circa) I727 ; he was admitted freeman from North Kings- town in 1756. In 1779 he was impeached for disloyalty, and with his wife, sent away from his home. On his petition to have the charges against him examined, and permission given to him to return home, he was allowed to return on parole. He married, first, Ruth Potter. She died about 1770. He married, soon after his first wife’s death, Mary, daughter ofJohn Cole, who was son of William, and grand- son of John and Susannah (Hutchinson) Cole. Ann Hutchinson, after the death of her husband William, in 1643, removed to East Chester, New York, where she and seventeen persons of her household were murdered by the Indians. One only, Susannah, escaped, who, after being redeemed, married John Cole, of Bos- ton, in 16 51. They soon after settled in the Narragansett country, near what is now Hamilton Mills, formerly called Bissell’s Mills.

§ 310. GIDEON HAZARD, 5 (Robert, 4.; Jeremiah, 3; Robert, 2; Thomas, I), married Sarah, daughter of Jonathan Chase, and widow Of Benjamin Congdon. He married, second, Anna , who died November 3, I 822. He died June 13, 1814, at the homestead of his father and grandfather.
