§ 376. JOHN HAZARD, 6 (Benjamin, 5; George, 4; Thomas, 3; Robert, 2; Thomas, I), was born in 174.6; he died June 26, 1813. He was called, Wick- ham John,” because he inherited land which came into the family through his great—grandmother, Mary Wickham. Her first husband was Enoch Place. She married Samuel Wickham as his second wife; but the land that she gave to her son—in—law George (whom she called George Place Hazard), in North Kingstown, she inherited from her father, James Sweet. In this case there seems even less reason for the nick—name “Wickham” than usual. John Hazard married, first, Sarah, daughter of Nathan Gardiner, and second, Martha, daughter of Latham and Martha (Robinson) Clarke.

(Hazard) Gardiner. 708. NATHAN GARDINER HAZARD, married, after his brother’s death, Framer Hazard, his brother’s

widow. She was first cousin to her husband, through the Gardiaen.

§ 377. GODFREY HAZARD, 6 (Simeon, 5 ; George, 4.; Thomas, 3 ; Robert, 2; Thomas, 1). He married, February 22, 1778, his cousin Alice, daughter of George and Sarah (Hazard) Hazard. She died October 29, 1778, without chil- dren. He married, second, November 22, 1787, Ruth, daughter of Jonathan and Ruth (Coggeshall) Easton; they were second cousins.

§ 373. SIMEON HAZARD, 6 (Simeon, 5; George, 4.; Thomas, 3; Robert, 2 ; Thomas, 1). He lived at the upper Narrow River Bridge, and for many years kept a tavern there. It is not: known whom he married.
