§ 797- HARRIET CLARISSA HASZARD, 7 (William, 6; Thomas, 5; Jonathan, 4.; Thomas3 ; Robert, 2; Thomas, I), was born September 28, 1798, at Bellevue, Prince Edward Island; she died at Charlottetown, February 4, I 84.1 ; she married, February 6, I 827, William Spencer Compton, merchant. Mr. Comp- ton died November 6, 184.7, at Charlottetown.

14.37. ERNEST FREDERICK COMPTON, born March 8, 1828. He removed to Melbourne, Victoria, and embarked in business. About the year I872, he settled in Auckland, New Zealand, where he erected the substantial buildings in which he carried on business until his death. He was managing director of the Auckland Tug Company, and was for several years a member of the
Harbor Board, and Chairman in 1881 and 1882. Died June 23, 1890, leaving a widow, two sons, and a daughter.
1438. CHARLES COMPTON, born May 31, 1829; died Sept. 19, 1884.; married, Ist, March 8, 1854, Leila, daughter of Major Compton; she died Jan. 14, I861 ; 2d, Emily Mandyen, daughter of 7ol1n MrFadyon. Mr. Compton was a merchant of St. Eleanors, P.E.I. He emigrated with his family to Nebraska in August, 1880, and died there Sept. 19, 1884.

I442. GEORGE COMPTON, born June 25, 1835; married, March 11, 1858, Eliza P. Compton, daughter of Major Compton of St. Eleanors, P.E.I. Mrs. Compton died Aug. 27, 1890; her husband, four sons, and five daughters survived her.
