He filled the following positions for longer or shorter periods ; viz. :-——Justice of the Peace for Prince County, and a Commissioner of small debts for St. Eleanors; Captain of the Queen’s Rifles (volunteers), St. Eleanors; Director of the Summerside Bank and a church— warden of S. John’s Episcopal Church at St. Eleanors. On the death of his brother Henry Haszard, in 1872, he succeeded him as Surveyor of Shipping for the Province, which office he held at his death, which occurred May 8, 1878. Mr. Haszard married, March 20, I856, Amelia, daughter of the Hon. P. S. McNutt of Darnley, Prince County. She died at Lynwood, April 6, 1860. He married secondly, Jane Davenport, daughter of the late Nathan Davies, of Char— lottetown, February 1 1, I869. CHILD OF FIRST MARRIAGE 14.72. ANN FARRANT HASZARD, 7 (William, 6; Thomas, 5; Jonathan, 4; Thomas, 3 ; Robert, 2 ; Thomas, I), born at Bellevue, Prince Edward Island, January 29, 1823 ; she married, first, January 22, 1857, Rev. Andrew Lockhead, formerly of Paisley, Scotland, for some time minister of S. David's Presbyterian Church, Georgetown, Prince Edward Island. He died at Paisley, January 12, 1864. She married, second, at Lynwood, St. Eleanors, March 31, 1868, Rev. William Ross Frame, formerly of Colchester, Nova Scotia, Presbyterian min: ister at Richmond Bay, East, and Summerside; and afterwards of Mount Stewart, Prince Edward Island. He died at Charlottetown, June 30, 1888, aged fifty— three. In 1885 Mr. Frame settled in Charlottetown. In the following year, he was en- gaged as editor of the Protwtant Union and shortly afterwards he formed a joint stock company, incorporated as “ The Island Guardian Publishing Company,” which purchased the plant of the-Protextnnt Union. The bland Guardian was devoted to the cause of morality and religion, and was independent in its pol— itics. Mr. Frame was its editor until his death, which was a great loss to the Province. He was an able and faithful preacher, and was highly esteemed for his readiness to take part in every good work. Mrs. Frame has led a useful and busy life, and is now (1894.) beyond the al- lotted three—score years and ten. CHILDREN or THE FIRST MARRIAGE 1473.
