2 1 4 Tfle HAZARD FAMILY L. P. W. DesBrisay, Esquire. Mr. Haszard was educated at the Provincial Nor- mal School and the Prince of Wales College. In February, 1867, he entered the office of his uncle, the Honorable John Longworth, as a law-student. On Feb— ruary 28, I 872, he was admitted as attorney of the Supreme Court of the Province, and in March, 1873, he was called to the bar of the same court. In the same year he entered into partnership with his uncle, under the name of Longworth and Haszard, and continued until his uncle’s retirement in 1883. From that time until 1887, he conducted business in his own name, when he admitted Oliver Rattenbury as a partner, continuing it thereafter under the name of Haszard and Rattenbury, until November I, 1890. He then entered into partnership with Honorable L. H. Davies, Q. C., M. P., under the name of Davies and Haszard, now one of the leading law—firms of the Province. On the resignation of R. R. Fitzgerald, Esq'., in December, 1893, Mr. Haszard was appointed Stipendiary Magistrate for the City Of Charlottetown, and City Recorder. CHILDREN 2345. JOHN FRANCIS HASZARD, born June 18, 1892. § 1464. HENRY FENWICK HASZARD, 8 (Henry Bowdoin, 7; William, 6; Thomas, 5 ; Jonathan, 4; Thomas, 3 ; Robert, 2 ; Thomas, I), was born July 29, 1848, at Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. He entered the Royal Navy in 1862, and continued in active service until the autumn of 1893, when he re— tired with the rank of commander. During that period, he served on board many of Her Majesty’s ships, in most parts of the world. When on the voyage from England to New Zealand, in the troop—ship Niagara, he was shipwrecked on S. Paul’s Island. For upwards of three years he commanded the Cherub, in the , North Sea, protecting the fisheries off the British coast. While in command of the Cherub, at the Isle of Wight, he received a visit on board from the Prince of Wales, and shortly afterwards had the honor of dining aboard the Prince's yacht. In September, 1889, he was appointed to the Command of the Coast— Guard Service at the Mumbles, near Swansea, in which he continued until his re- tirement in 1893.
