It is the intention of the Bishop of Charlottetown (should he succeed in obtaining a sufficient number of subscribers) to publish during the coming summer a volume containing the history of the Catholic Parishes of Prince Edward Island and the Magdalen Islands, from the date of the ceding of these colonies to England up to the year of his Lordship's Silver Jubilee 1885. The book will give a list of the first Catholic settlers of each parish, the time of their emigration, and all other facts or legends of any importance connected with the missions. It will also contain a short biographical sketch of the Bishop and each priest of the diocese, as well as of the deceased bishops and most of the deceased I priests. The book will be bound in cloth and will measure (?). It will be illustrated with cuts from the "Moss Engraving Company of new York, giving portraits of the Bishop and Clergy, portraits of the deceased Bishops and most of the deceased clergy, pictures of each Catholic Church in the diocese, pictures of each Convent in the diocese, and a large cut of St. Dunstans College, Charlottetown. The price will not exceed five dollars per volume. The money will be collected on the delivery of the book. A sample page is enclosed with this circular.
