in stained glass. representing Our Lord. the Blessed Virgin and St. Joseph. Above the window is an illuminated scroll bearing the Motto:
"Gloria in Excelsis Deo. et in Terra. Pax'.
'Horimibus Bonae Elslmetatie' illuminated in gold letters on a blue ground. The sanctuary is covered with a rich Turkey carpet. the subdued tints of which. harmonize well with the dark. rich colours of the altar and candlesticks. The walls of the church are finished in blocked plaster. to imitate stone: the side windows. above the doors leading into the sacristies. are of stained glass. The organ is the finest in the diocese. It was built by Mitchell of Montreal. and is of oak. richly gilt. It has twelve hundred pipes. and cost two thousand, four hundred dollars. The pulpit. although a gem in itself. is not strictly in keeping with the
church. it is white. in imitation of Parian marble. and is beautifully carved.
The pews are of oak. and are low and roomy.
A door opening from the sanctuary on the gospel side. leads to a small vestry. Passing under the rose window. at the epistle side. one enters by a small door. into the beautiful side chapel. a truly exquisite little sanctuary. fifty two feet in length. by eighteen in breadth. The ceiling is of oak and is open timbered. between the oaken arches. it is painted blue and dotted with stars. There is here. a very beautiful little altar. exquisitely carved and illuminated; above it. under a high canopy. stands a statue of the Immaculate Conception. painted in dark colours. to match the altar.
