14 One 1973 event of special interest to all was the " Art Perry Night ." The Angel Gabriel summoned the Fathers of Confederation to help honour Art, who for 25 years served the scouting movement at the Kirk. Art and his wife Kay were very surprised when "This Is Your life" program was presented to an appreciative audience. I would recommend that each member read carefully the 1974 annual report of Presbyterian Women, written by our President, Mrs. Keith Cowan . ( Mrs. Cowan 's report follows immediately.) PRESBYTERIAN WOMEN'S ASSOCIATION PRESIDENT'S REPORT - 1974 by Mrs. Elizabeth Cowan As 1974 was the year of the production of the revised Constitution and By-Laws, I'll begin with a review of its description of the Presbyterian Women's Association of the Kirk of St. James. Within the Association there are smaller groups (six at present) of approximately five to twenty-five members each, whose membership is open to all women indicating their sympathy with the aim and purpose of the Association, and who help in its work with prayer, service and contributions. There are also Home Helpers or Associate Members, who are unable to attend meetings, but who, nevertheless, contribute to the work of the Association, as well as Life and Honorary Members. The total membership at present is 108; the average attendance has been 20 at the eight regular meetings held in 1974? one executive meeting took place. In carrying out our aims and purposes the group members met together at one another's homes and in church meeting ..rooms for fellowship, study, and worship; met at times with Women's Missionary Society Members as delegates and/or concerned observers or participants at other Presbyterian Churches affiliated with the Society's , both on the Island and off; called on and corresponded with Associate Members (Home Helpers) and non- members in their homes, nursing homes and hospitals; and served on the various committees that brought forth refreshments for several occasions in our own and other churches, including, among others, the Charlottetown Christian Council's luncheon, the Presbytery Dinner Meeting, the Annual Banquet, a wedding, a summer outing for city children, the Fall Food Sale and Fair, the December Tea for senior congregational members and several fellowship hours following church services, and Congregational, Bible Society, and Women's Missionary Society's Island Presbyterial Meetings.
