Rev. W. E. Ramohk was pastor (1883—84) and he was succeeded by Rev. George Wells Fisher (1834—89) and in 1888—wlncorporation of Presbyterian Church Montrose~-Tignish~Elmsdale took place. Trustees were John R. Donald, Hugh Squarebriggs, A. J. McFadgen and Wm. Wallace.

In 1907; in June, Campbellton was added to Tigfish, Montrose and Elmsdale Charge. flay 23 1910 a special service was held in the Preflnmerian Church, Elmsdaley and extensive repairs were done. The building was re—opened May 22 with Rev. Robert Murray of O‘Leary preaching at 3:00 p.m. and Rev. George Millar preaching at 7:00 p.m.

In 1916 the minister’s stipend (salary) was voted to be raised to $1,000.00 as soon as possible. David Gordon resigned as Sunday School Superintendent because of age.

Another change took place in the history of Elmsdale Church in 1925 when Methodists and Prefinmerkms w united to join the United Church of Canada. Montrose Pastoral Charge was formed and consisted of Montrose, Elmsdale, Miminegash and Campbellton. Tignish joined the Alberton Charge. '
