It was during the term of ministry of-the Rev. R. G. Fulton, 1915-1919 that Grace Church united with the First Methodist, thus closing another chapter in the life of Methodism in' Charlottetown. At this time the Rev. Mr. Littlejohns was the pastor of Grace Church. So the work and life of the Methodist Church in Charlottetown con— tinued to ebb and flow. As one door opened another closed, but as a whole, it continued to grow and expand in all its various activities, reaching out into the hearts and lives of its members and adherents.

It may be wondered if even John Wesley himself could have visualized what its scope and influence was to be when, in 1737, he came over from England to the United States and “gathered the children of Savannah, Georgia, for religious instruction” and when half a century later, in 1786 Methodist Bishop Asbury of Georgia organized the first Sunday School in America.

The early Methodists here in Charlottetown were imbued with that same fervor and baptized with the same spirit, believing the same things. They appreciated the great importance of teaching

the young and training them in “the nurture and admonition of the Lord”.
