[MrMackay said he knew that Mr. McDonald had not been in connection with any church courts since a short time after his arrival in Prince Edward Island and that his people "cleave to him as their pastor more than to the Kirk to which they belong“ and yet he knows ”of no other who has more closely followed the apostolic example of visiting from house to house without providing any fixed abode nor rest nor dwelling place for himself, sharing in whatever fare might fall to his lot without murmur or complaint.'] (Word, April 1857, p.55)
