21 5The Rev. Andrew Lochhead was minister at Georgetown at the time. The plaque on the wall of St. David's Church there is a memorial to him. He had recently come from Scotland and was probably scandalized by the irregularity of McDonald's ministry though seeing the advantages of the increase in reportable numbers of Church of Scotland members on the Island. This would encourage the home body in Scotland to provide needed additional missionary personnel to the colony and to help pay for such new appointees. 6. Was Lochhead being sarcastic? Was he turning McDonald's reported epithet on him back on the perpetrator? But if McDonald believed he had been wicked in , as he seems to have tacitly admitted, why protest? After all he was now "saved by grace". Perhaps he was reacting to the this old country "know-it-all" who presumed to dictate but who knew nothing about the situation in the colonies!
