HISTORICAL SKETCH OF THE EAST POINT BAPTIST CHURCH

Mr. Brown reported that he was royally treated both at East Point and Murray River. He is still deeply interested in the Lord’s work on Prince Edward Island. He is now over eighty years of age.

Rev. F. A. Kidson frequently preached and baptized here fifty or sixty years ago. He was a fine preacher and a man much loved. When here he made his home at Alex MacLean’s, where his son now resides and continues the worthy name of Kidson.

THE MEETING-HOUSE AT NORTH LAKE

The meeting-house at North Lake was started in building 1875 and finished in 1876. The two churches united in building it, giving lum- ber and labour and what cash was needed. It has served a good pur- pose as a convenient centre for preaching, Sunday School and lectures.

In September, 1876, a call was extended to Rev. J. A. Gordon, then of Alberton and West Cape, P. E. 1., to become pastor. He at once en- tered upon his work and spent four strenuous and successful years with

the church. His field included Souris, Dundas, St. Peters and Kingsboro.

He was an ardent temperance worker. He led in the erection of the
