Pastor McPhee was an earnest preacher and a faithful pastor. Good progress was made during his pastorate. Twentyone were added to the membership.

REV. ]. W. GARDINER, 1900-1906

Mr. Gardiner was horn in England in 1841. He was a graduate of Crawley College, Oxford, and was ordained to the Christian ministry in 1873. His death at the age of eighty-live indicates that he gave over fifty wars to the work of the ministry. hioving to Canada in 1891 he held pas- torates at Antigonish. Guysboro and North Sydney. Nova Scotia. He was six years pastor of the Kingshoro Baptist Church. During that period iher: were added to the church hltv-loizr new memhzrs. He was a man of strong convictions. deep devotion and unwavering faith. The Association u as held here during his pastorate. 1904. Much importance was attached to the numher of ministers attending our Association. Besides the pas— tor those present were, M. W". Brown, H. Y. Corey, and Rev. Professor I75. NI. Kierstead of Acadia College.
