churches was held for further discussion and action, Mr. Theophilus MacDonald in the chair. After some informal discussion and explana- tions the chairman submitted the following question: "Does anybody pres- ent know of any just reason why the brethren of both of our two local churches should not unite?” T. S. Robertson, Aexana’er Scott, ]r., Alfred Morrow, Stewart Anderson, Alfred Rose, J. H. Baker, Benjamin Ching, James Dingwell, ]. A. Fraser and Benjamin Baker expressed their views on the subject and were in favor of co-operation. It was then recommended that the question thus informally discussed be submitted to the two churches concerned. Accordingly on March the 24th, 1907, after morning service, T. S. Robertson reported to the Baptist Church what had been done at the preliminary meetings. The church endorsed the findings of the previous meetings and appointed Alex Fraser, T. S. Robertson and Alexander Scott to act with a similar committee from the Disciples Church to draw up a basis of co-operation.

The following basis of co-operation was submitted at a subsequent meeting and unanimously adopted:

This agreement between the two churches shall be known as a “co~ operation agreement”:

First. To secure a qualified pastor to minister to both churches.

Second. That the engagement of pastor shall be from year to year; always providing that the term of engagement may be extended if both parties to the agreement are satisfied.

Third. Should either party to the agreement be dissatisfied with any pastor who may be engaged for the time being, the engagement may be discontinued at the close of the pastoral year; the aggrieved party to the contract having given three months’ notice to the Chairman of the Joint Committee.

Fourth. That the pastors be engaged alternately from each of the denominations to which the contracting churches belong, so far as p05<

Fifth. That each of the contracting parties secure subscriptions for the pastor’s salary, and collect in the way that may seem most desirable to themselves and by their own chosen collectors.

Sixth. That agreement as to salary and time of service be made with the pastor by the joint committee.
