HISTORICAL SKETCH OF THE EAST POINT BAPTIST CHURCH DEACON ALEXANDER FRASER, SR . Deacon Eraser was one of the first two Deacons appointed by the Church in 1833. He filled the office for nearly thirty years. He was a man universally respected for uprightness in all the relations of life. Ele left none in doubt as to where he stood on all the great moral ques¬ tions of the day. His home was the home of visiting ministers at all seasons. He was loyal to his church and his seat was seldom empty when the church assembled for her solemn services. He had a vigorous mind, and a clean comprehension of the plan of salvation. The fire was never permitted to die out on the family altar. He trained his family to love the church, and every member of his household became a member of the church. One son was made an honored deacon and one daughter was almost a life-long teacher in the Bible School, and a prominent and beloved member of the Woman's Missionary Society. He passed to his rest and reward Sept. 17, 1869, and was laid away by sorrowing friends in the Church Cemetery, Kingsboro . -J. A. F. DEACON DUNCAN ROBERTSON , SR ., 1833-1875 He was a man beloved for his quiet consistent life and unswerving loyalty to his Church. His life was an open book from which all might read and gain help. He was serious and reverent in his office as cup¬ bearer to the King. DUNCAN ROBERTSON , JR . He was a son of Duncan Robertson , Sr.., and was a successful pub¬ lic school teacher for fifteen years, ten of which were spent at Kingsboro . He afterwards bought a farm and also conducted a store at Red Point . He was a highly respected citizen and a valuable member of the Church. The influence of his life is still felt in the church and community. He was largely instrumental in initiating a movement for the building of the first parsonage. He was Church Clerk for ten years. 38
