HISTORICAL SKETCH OF THE EAST POINT BAPTIST CHURCH the public school for many years and one of the leaders in the Great institution that accomplished much in a moral and social way, for an entire generation of young people. In his school work he was popular with his pupils. He not only emphasized the value of education but of moral character and correct behavior as well. Several of his pupils became teachers and some entered college and later acquired distinction in their chosen fields in other lands. He was an enthusiastic church worker, and had the joy of seeing a great body of his former pupils unite with the church in the revival of 1874. He died in 1909. He was a kindly man—a man of choice spirit and high ideals. -J. A. F. DEACON JOHN ' E. ROBERTSON This picture is inserted her; by Mrs. Garfield Stewart in loving memory of her father.
