Henry George I\/Iellicl< was born at Portage, now named Elmira, Prince Edward Island. August 11th, 1857. His father was John Mel- lick and his mother Ann Rose. Horatio Ernest Morrow was his first school teacher. He was converted in the great revival of 1874. About two years later he was called to the gospel ministry. He began his pre- paration in the district schools. The last winter John A. Ford was his teacher. He was ordained at Brandon, 1886. The fol- lowing spring he came east and married Miss Frances Elizabeth Wal- lace. daughter ol Rev. Isaiah Wallace. I'lD. He was called to the pas- torate of Brussels St. Church, St. john. N. 8.. at that time. In 1889
